Wait, what!? Wasn’t the most recent announcement about the return from Greece? What does California have to do with that?
Back in March, we were privileged to attend a wedding of one of our beloved cousins in the San Diego area. I don’t like traveling long distances for just one or two days of festivities, so Natasha and I made a mini-vacation out of it. I ended up with a few photo sets from that trip. By the time I could have gotten to process them in chronological order, two destination titans – London and Paris – demanded to be prioritized in the queue. Since I have significantly fewer markers on the Photo Map for the US than for Europe, I’m going to revert to my chronological approach and work on a handful of California retrospectives before turning my attention to pictures from Greece. Those will follow soon after, I promise.
We’ll start with a small set from Carlsbad, where we spent a couple of hours strolling around one morning.
A Europhile such as I can hardly get too excited over a town with limited history, whose oldest surviving structure is not even 150 years old. Nonetheless, Carlsbad is easy on the eye, and picturesque corners pop up here and there.
It is no surprise, though, that I have as many street art photos as I do street and building perspectives. They catch the eye first and foremost.
It was not an extensive exploration. We had wineries and a couple of additional points of interest in mind, which will be highlighted in the upcoming installments.
Fascinating! Never knew this was Carlsbad, though I’d heard of the place. Love the architecture (although could do with the hippie art, lol). LOVE the view of the water and LOVE LOVE LOVE the trees! What type are they?? Looking forward to hearing/seeing more.
