It was somewhat inexplicable that after having lived in London for nearly 3 years, we have not come back to this great city in over 15 years since. Just as inexplicable is the fact that Francophiles such as we are, who used to go to Paris several times a year while living in London, contrived to manage just one brief visit to the French capital in those same last 15 years.
Our youngest was born after our repatriation and therefore never set foot in either London or Paris. We needed to show her two of our favorite cities in the world, and along the way, reacquaint ourselves with them. Which, as you must know if you follow my better half on Instagram, has been our focus for the last week-plus.
We hit a number of inarguable must-sees in both cities, augmented that with a few fun activities, and also took time to absorb the atmosphere by walking around our favorite neighborhoods. I took decidedly fewer photographic shots than I usually do, but likely have enough material for a handful of retrospectives in due time.
For a teaser, a perspective from the terrace at Trocadero that should be familiar to everyone who has ever heard of the Eiffel Tower.
