In what has by now become an annual event, we decamped to a warmer destination for the few final days of the year. As we always try to do, the place was one that we haven’t been to before. In this case, Aruba.
The small Caribbean island is a very popular and pleasant tourist destination, but it is not exactly known for either sightseeing or for many activities beyond the beach and the nightlife. The vacation was as close to a “lazy” one as we got to in over a decade. We certainly tried to diversify the experience, and I can plausibly claim that I have seen every single point of interest on the island. Driving a UTV around the place was a fun highlight, and there were visits to a national park with caves, as well as several animal farms and other minor attractions, but otherwise it was mostly about spending time on the beach by the brilliant sea in the company of my brother and his family.
A new destination, a fun family reunion, a week away from New Jersey weather – a very successful trip overall, sightseeing limitations notwithstanding.
The photographic output from this type of vacation, however, can only be described as meagre. I will eventually get to processing whatever I have, but keep your expectations in check.

This was my son’s honeymoon destination. They loved it, naturally. It’s the way they are–history and other such sites wouldn’t appeal to them at all. 🙂 So, yes…I take your point.
