YouTube – I don’t really come here to socialize… Shelfari – online book community. Facebook – couldn’t resist joining but not at all active in it. VKontakte.ru – literally, Facebook localized for Russia. |

Fodor’s – the best travel community out there. Google Maps – excellent for finding places and for directions as well. Transport for London – very useful for planning journeys around the city. XE.com – one of the many currency converters. holiday-rentals.co.uk – our favorite place to look for apartment/villa rentals. Vacation Rentals by Owner – another good site to look for vacation accommodations. Venere – many good hotels listed here. Expedia – you can hardly not try this service whenever you are looking for travel deals. |

Speedtest.net – check the health of your internet connection. Dictionary.com – indispensable for aspiring writers (who write in English, of course). Babel Fish – my favorite of online translation sites. JibJab – jokes and other fun stuff for your leisure. WidgetBox – one of the best places to look for things to spice up your blog. Blogthings – silly quizes and internet-wasters for so-inclined. Mashable – social networking resources. ExpatExchange – we don’t really belong to this community, but there are useful resources there. UpMyStreet – excellent resource for when you are looking for a place to live in the UK. WalkScore – fun way to see how walkable any US address is. jGuitar.com – the best chord search and tools on the web. Geni.com – for those inclined to chart their genealogy. Golfshake.com – golfing community, which I primarily use to keep track of my scores. Soundboard – vast collection of audio clips and soundbites. TelevisionTunes – a repository of TV themes and music. |
