Bands I Like *sqeals loudly*

Posted on September 28, 2008 at 10:45 pm in

(Before I start my post, I would like to say that I’m very upset that no one commented on ‘Why Cows Say Moo’. I’d really like some feedback!)

So. That is my topic for the post since not much has happened lately. *sighs*. My mate Livi came over today but, really, it’s been a dull weekend. Plus, Livi may now kill me for reasons that can’t be mentioned. The only thing that will cheer me up is talking ’bout my bands!

First I shall talk about the German band ‘Tokio Hotel’. This may take a while. I only found out about them 2 weeks ago and I’m in love. I first, properly, discovered my now second favourite band by accident. I was downloading music for my phone and wanted to see what the top downloads were that day. I say the song ‘Ready, set, go!’ and liked the sound of it so I looked it up on youtube. It was love at first sight. And sound as well. The music itself is kind of rock and a bit of emo and strangely, I really liked it. Then I saw the lead singer, PHWOOOAR! He has got long black hair and is emo-looking. But I love emos so tis all well. *starts to daydream*. Where was I? Oh, yea! Bill Kaulitz, the lead singer is VERY nice-looking. That factor always makes a band gain likeness for me, can’t be helped! If the music’s good and the lead looks nice, I’m hooked.

Only yesterday, I actually found out they were German. They actually record songs in both English and German which is very thoughtful of them ‘cuz German doesn’t sound to nice. I know, I’ve heard. Later that night, I remembered something from my Italian holiday this summer. I recalled seeing (and hearing) a video in German with a really cute lead. I didn’t remember exactly what he looked like. And the song had been German so I hadn’t bothered to write it down. So what came into my head was ‘OH MY GOD! What if it was Tokio Hotel!’. That thought kept me awake for a while but I drifted of soon. Then, I checked Tokio Hotel’s songs (that were actually in German) and found the one that I’d seen in Italy! I love coincidences like that! It’s so cool! Well, to me at least. I just really like the fact that if I hadn’t looked at most downloaded songs, I wouldn’t have found out! And I really did want to find out. YAY!

I shall now talk about the band Metro Station. They are my absolute faves! Once again, I only found out about them a few weeks ago. Through a different way, though. My mate Emily, always gets me to download songs for her ‘cuz she’s lazy. She asked me to download a song called ‘Shake it’. I did, but first I watched the video to see if I’d like it. I LIKE IT! The beat is so catchy and so is the music. Plus, once again. I find one of the lead singers very attractive. Yea, okay. So sue me! They don’t have many songs because they’re really new but most of my close mates adore them. They are so different from Tokio Hotel it’s like pickles to ice-cream. My music tastes are odd.

Anyway, I’ll talk about the lead singer I like. His name is Trace Cyrus which means he’s related to Miley Cyrus. Thankfully, he’s only half-brother to her so if (WHEN) Trace and I get married, we won’t see her much. The oddball thing is that the other lead singer is the brother of another Hannah Montana star-Mitchell Musso. The singer’s called Mason Musso and looks tons like his brother. It’s weird how the band has two people in in who’s siblings already work together. Back to Trace, not usually my type but wow! I like him, go figure. He’s not emo but has the cool fringe thing down. Plus some tattoos and piercings but they really suit him. I usually hate piercings and tattoos, by the way. This shows the impact he’s had on me. He and Bill from Tokio Hotel are tied at the moment for most fave singer. Bill’s kinda winning but Trace is neck and neck with him.

Hope you liked my weird post and try listening to the songs I’ve mentioned! Mwah!

Why Cows say Moo

Posted on September 21, 2008 at 12:22 pm in

Last year (when I was in Year 8), my mate Ella and I created a story about, well, why cows say moo. I personally think it’s marvelous and so did the whole school when a teacher rad it out for us. Enjoy!

Why Cows say Moo!

Once upon a time, the moon was were many people lived. They lived with creatures called…..COWS. “Cows” were super strong beings who could talk in many languages, both person and animal. “Cows” gave milk to the people of Moon, the healthiest and tastiest milk you could think of. Everyone was very happy living on Moon which, at the time, was full of plant life and had no “craters”. One day, a scientist on Moon discovered that if you let milk go bad, it could eventually become delicious “cheese”. He experimented with the “cheese” and unknowingly put a substance into the “cheese” that could easily explode if it hit something. The scientist went for lunch leaving the “cheese” unguarded. Another scientist came into the testing lab and accidentally knocked the “cheese” over.

KABOOM!!!!!!!!!!!

The “cheese” exploded and everyone on Moon was blasted into space. Only the “cows” survived, falling onto Earth. They were alive, but the blasting “cheese” had weakened them terribly. They were no longer super strong and they could barely talk. It was a horrible day for the “cows”. Moon was horribly damaged. The explosion had blown big chunks out of it. It now had huge holes called “craters” in it and had a yellowish tinge instead of its normal snow white…

Now, the descendents of the original “cows” are still trying to tell people their story. They try to say “MOON! MOON!”, but they are just too weak. All they can say is “MOOOOOOOOOO!”

THE END

I hope you liked it! Please leave comments!

School’s back. Yay. (NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!)

Posted on September 10, 2008 at 9:01 pm in

School started last Thursday for me. The first day was a lot of hugging and ‘what did you do this summer?’s being tossed around. I have already been invited to a party and a movie viewing. My new form tutor (homeroom teacher) is Mr. Mathasing. Surprise, surprise, he teaches Math. He probably only took it up ‘cuz of his name. Anyway! You can get either a top or bottom locker. After, two years of being blissfully at the top, my luck finally changed. I have a bottom locker which is far more annoying. I have to sit down to get my books out and there’s no point in decorating since no one, not even the new Year 7’s are short enough to see. Speaking of, I have already befriended a few of these littlies and reacquaintedmyself with ones I new such as my mate Ella’s sister. I know we must have been shorter in Year 7 but some girls are really an exception. They are titchy!

Most of my teachers this year are the same. I have a new maths teacher because the top group (which I am somehow in) is taught by the new head of maths, Mr. Walters, this year. I have a different history teacher but I had her in Year 7. I now have two science teachers. I am taught Chemistry (blech) by Dr. Mustafa. I call him Mr. Moofasa like Simba’sdad in the Lion King. He’s okay but new so he’s trying to act all don’t mess with me. We shall make him a softie soon. I’m taught Physics (interesting) and Biology (easy and fun and interesting) by my favourite teacher, Mr. Denton. I believe I’ve mentioned him before. He’s the one who looks like Van Gogh. The Year 7’s all hate him but will learn to love him like we Year 9’s do. Year 9 would be 8th grade in America for anyone who wants to know some common knowledge.

Here is something fun (ha!) I found out, on Friday I believe. Apparently, some scientists in either Switzerland or Sweden decided it would be fun to try to recreate the Big Bang today, the 10th. Also, apparently, if it went wrong, a black hole would appear and we’d all die. (Our class had our Headmistress for a class yesterday and asked if we could have today off to enjoy our last day of life. She said no.) We asked Mr. Denton about all this jazz and after we decided we would not die, he said that the results of this experiment would only be revealed in 4 flipping years. Well, he didn’t say flipping, I added that. So, scientists are weird people in conclusion. First, they don’t care if they accidentally destroy the world, then they can’t even tell us the results (after all that worrying) about what happened at the Big Bang. I blame the media.

Here is something completely non-related to school. My mates Livi and Ella have got me hooked on a Tv show called The Mighty Boosh. It’s, like in a parallel universe and is just plain hilarious. The second and third series are more funny than the first one. Anyway, it’s starring Julian Barratt and Noel Fielding. All my mates and I are madly in love with Noel Fielding. He’s got the BEST hair in the world and a cool accent. *swoons a bit*. Too bad he’s like 35. He looks 10 years younger, honestly. It is a funny show and I watch it on youtube. The live show is coming to the millenium dome in January. Problem is, I don’t know if I’ll have moved by then! Ahhh! I must see Noel!

To end my post, I shall tell you that I forgot to turn on my alarm last night and overslept. I had not set my alarm. I never set recurrent alarm because I thought I’d just have to turn it off on weekends which would be a pain. My mum found me still in my bed at 8.00am and had to drive me to school at top speed. Well, actually, at speed limit speed with traffic and traffic lights. I got in at 8.27. Which is still counted as late. Anytime after 8.25 is. Picky school people! I didn’t miss any lessons or even registration which is good. In the car, while my mum was driving me, I realised that you could set recurrent alarm on certain days. I did not know this before as I had never checked. Aren’t I clever!

I’m baaa-aaack!

Posted on September 2, 2008 at 12:52 pm in

Hola, bonjour, and ciao! I am back from my Europe vacation thingy! I thoroughly enjoyed my time and got a very nice time. I will only write about what I thought was significant. Here is what I did (*rubs hands together in preparation for serious typing*):

My first stop was Catalonia, Spain. WE stayed in a little beach town called  L’estartit. Catalonian, which is spoken there, is very annoying to me because I haven’t learned it. It’s, like, a mix of Spanish and French. I spent my time there mostly just relaxing. We had a very nice pool near our villa and the beach was a five minute drive away. (I should mention now that in every country we met up with people we knew.) A two minute walk away lived our family friends. They have 3 kids. One’s 4 and his name is Max, I called him Monkeyman. (I have names for all small-type people I know. Like Kimmy is Munchkin.) Monkeyman is very sweet and shy. The next one is Danny, I call him Little Munchkin Person. This little 7-year-old is a mini devil incarnate. He is loud, pinching-ful and doesn’t listen. This is not one of my favorite people. The oldest kid is called Joe. He’s just turned 15 and I call him Sandra Dee. Yes, I know he’s not a small-type person, but he calls me Mooey so I needed a name for him. I spent most of my time with him because he’s closest to my age and I didn’t make friends with the other people at the resort-type place. In Spain, I went to a water park and it was quite dull. Only one good slide!

My second stop was Roquebrune, France. There, we stayed with my aunt, uncle and cousin from Russia. My cousin, Sasha is very cute and talks a lot for a 3-year-old. She is a bit of a handful, though. She switches through emotions in literally seconds. In France, I managed to faint on a very hot day, losing my sunglasses in the process. I bought a very pretty dress to make up for it and my mum gave me a pair of her shades that suit me quite nicely. A few days after that we went to a water park. In my opinion, it was brilliant! It had tons of slides and a wave pool. The service kinda sucked which annoyed the adults. It took an hour to get food. I guess that is quite bad. Anyway, I went on a slide alone and some french boys invited me to hang out with them after going on the slide. Sadly, I only realised what they were asking after I had said no! *scolds herself*. I was very annoyed with me when it hit me. OH WELL!

My last stop was Montespertoli (Mon-te-spehr-toe-lee). That’s in Tuscany, Italy for geography people out there. We stayed in the same place we did last year in May. Except, on the next villa over because, yes you guessed it, we had people staying with us. Our family friends the Salita’s. They have an almost 8-year-old boy called Robert, I called him Chipmunk dude. They also have a just turned 12-year-old boy called Josh. It was fun hanging out with them, especially in our private pool! The pool was very much appreciated but it was same deepness everywhere which is about my height, a little less even. I’m 5 foot 8. Our neighbours were also people we new, from Britland. They have a little boy called Tim who’s 4th b-day we celebrated. Let’s just say he’s get along perfectly with Danny (mentioned above). He does not yet have a nickname but whenever I refer to him, it’s the Monster or the Terror. My time in Italy was mostly site-seeing and hedgehog buying. I collect them and I got about 4 new ones, including one made from twigs and nature-type stuff. It’s by far the coolest. I went on two tours that were in Russian and only ran into problems on the first one. No, it wasn’t because I couldn’t understand the guide. It was because shoulders and legs needed to be mostly covered in a church. I was wearing short shorts since it was boiling outside. The crisis was averted because the guide had a scarf which I stylishly tied around my waist. We went to the beach only once, after climbing the Leaning Tower of Pisa. It was more of a lagoon than a beach but the ocean was behind it. There were cool rocks surrounding our ‘lagoon’ and I left my mark on them with a chalky rock. I wrote ‘Life is Life!’ which is a song lyric with a little change. It’ll probably fade or something but I hope it’ll last a week.

So that’s my vacation in a nutshell. I was actually very happy to be back in London and I went to a birthday party the day after I came home. The party was yesterday and we watched Wild Child, it’s a sweet film. (ALEX PETIFER!) Then we went to Meriel’s house (that’s the b-day girl) and watched Clueless which is a really good movie. Tonight, I’m off to a sleepover with half the girls who came to the party and some others. We just can’t wait till Thursday to see each other. That’s when school starts, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
