Au revoir mon petite pois(green peas)!

Hello and apologies for not writing for ages. Not that many people read this blog. *sighs* School has finally ended and it did so with a bang. We still had our first two lessons in which we just watched movies and played charades. That was fun. Then the whole school (meaning juniors and seniors) went down to our sports field for the remainder of the day. There was a magnificent lunch prepared that we were meant to go up and take. Like a buffet. But being the lucky people we are, the Year 8’s ended up going last. So, we starved. There was seriously nothing but a few quiches left. No exaggeration.

After that nutritious and filling lunch, everyone started to fool around and play. I got my own personal camp, if you will. All the Year 5’s absolutely love me. But they show their love through torment. I was pelted by soft balls and attacked by hula hoops. Yes, hula hoops. They were put around me and I was dragged around. Plus, my shoes were taken and apples were thrown at me. Ah, little kids. You gotta love them. No, they were really sweet. They definitely made my afternoon interesting. My other option would have been watching the teachers play rounders (it’s kinds like baseball) so I didn’t miss much. I do recall begging for help from a favourite teacher at one moment. He just laughed. We went back to the school at around 2.30 and watched a film made by the junior school German club. It was really well made! I was surprised at the quality, it was so professional. The star of the film was a girl who was my little sister on the school ski trip. It made me feel proud to see her as Alice in Deutschland.

Summer holidays have been very good so far. Our close family friends visited and I have been playing tour guide for them all week. They just left. I very much enjoyed going to the London Dungeons with them and recommend it very, um, a lot! While they were here, I went to my best matey Ella’s birthday party. We first watched Mamma Mia (nothing special) and then went to Cafe Rouge. After that, we went back to her house for random party-type activities. We probably went to bed around 4.00am after watching the movie Dodgeball. Now that, is a good movie! Hysterical in every way!

Now let me tell you about my productive day yesterday. First of all, I woke up at 2.15pm. That’s right, I don’t believe it either. I did have a sleepover the previous night so that may be the cause. It was evened out by me waking up at 9am today. Anyway. I had lunch, deciding to completely miss out Breakfast, not even trying for Brunch. Then I went to get hair dye. After buying the dye, I got my nails done at the salon. That was fun. They are now silvery purple. I went home and washed my hair. Then, I found out the dye is meant to be applied to dry hair. I blow-dried my hair bone dry. The dye was a purpley-brown and that is the colour of my hair now. It’s not as purple as I would have liked but it is still a gorgeous colour. So ha ha to Miss Wolloshin! She is a great teacher in my school but is very picky about hair colour and uniforms. *sticks out her tongue*

To explain the title quickly, I’m going on a six week holiday. Two weeks Spain, two France, two Italy. I am saying good-bye now because it is unlikely that I will write another blog in the next two days. The title is just me saying buh-bye in a different language so: adios, au revoir and ciao!

Happy 4th of July!

Posted on July 4, 2008 at 8:52 pm in

So. It’s Independence Day today. And I am very ashamed of myself.

England obviously isn’t happy that us Americans broke free from them so they don’t celebrate today widely. It was not at all mentioned today in school. Not even in a ‘We hate Americans’ type of way! So it’s no surprise that I forgot about it. That’s right. A patriotic American like me forgot about the 4th of July. I had to be told about it be two English Year 7’s (6th graders)! One of them used to live in America but still! I am very disappointed in myself. I will be upset FOREVER! Kay, that’s over. I’m happy again!

I saw an old man on my bus home from school wearing a very coolio tie. It has the American flag and the eagle. It looked so cute (in a ‘Bless him, he’s trying to look cool’ kind of cute) to see that old guy in a black suit and that bright tie! I decided to make up for my forgetfulness by dressing up all American-y and going to get some soup. The soup getting was just an excuse to go outside really, even though I wanted it. I put on my shirt with many American city names, my American flag necklace and a pin with the flag on it. I could not find my American scarf so I went out like that. Don’t worry, I also had shorts and leggings on. I also wrote USA on either arm in permanent blue marker. I wonder if that’ll come off…

Anyway, happy 4th of July people of the world (mainly America)!

————————————————————————————

1 hour later: With the help of vigorous brushing with soap, and then swabbing with nail polish remover, I have managed to get rid of the permanent marker on my arms. Almost. Kinda. Oh, ALRIGHT! It’s still quite visible. *sighs*. Oh well…

Is school over yet? (plus parties)

Hello and apologies for not writing for a while. It’s just that nothing very interesting has happened lately. All of my exam results have been found out (by me) and my parents will find out as well soon enough. I don’t really see the point of going to school after exams. We are tired and annoyed and very rowdy so teachers shouldn’t bother. It may confuse you that I am still in school. I guess I’ll explain *sighs*. In England, school ends halfway through July, the eleventh for me. Don’t think this is a violation of human rights. Though I could use that in court…hmmmm. Instead of a long summer, us Brits have a two week (or one-it alternates) break every six weeks. So it evens out. I’d still rather have a long summer. All my American mates have been out of school for ages! It’s absolute torture sitting in the classrooms because the weather has suddenly become boiling again. *mutters incoherently about Global Warming*

I did go to 2 movies last weekend and will give a short opinion of them. First, on Friday, I went to see Prince Caspian. This was right after a school trip to Hever Castle. The movie is very good but drags on a bit. Of course, you get to stare at the actor playing Caspian the whole time. Phwoooaaar! (A British expression of ’she/he’s hot!’) It was actually a little hard to follow the movie but I haven’t read the book so I don’t really know. The second movie I watched was The Hulk. I went to see it on Saturday with a group of friends to celebrate two of their birthdays. I will mention, before I state my opinion, that I mostly watch rom-coms(romantic comedies) so I’m probably not one to judge this movie. It has you feeling like you’ve missed something until more than halfway through (even though the hulk that came out a few years ago has nothing to do with this one). It ends in a way that implies a definite sequel which annoys me. The movie was good but I don’t feel like watching another one like it. Yet, now I am obliged to! Argh!

I am going to a fancy dress (costume party) this weekend and the next. My friend Ella and I are going as Rockstar Faeries. We went shopping yesterday. We bought pink fishnet tights, pink hairspray, black wings and a black mask (it’s a masquerade-ish theme party). We will add to this a cool black shirt each, black boots and black tutu’s. We wish for the best but will probably end up looking like total twits! OH WELL!
